USA Today Premieres Amelia White Video For “Ghetto,” Standout From New Album Old Postcard, Out March 4th
Video A Slice Of East Nashville Songwriter’s Life, Watch Here:
February 18, 2014 - Giving viewers a peek into her life in East Nashville, USA Today premieres the new music video for Amelia White’s “Ghetto.” The song comes from White’s new album Old Postcard, which “features haunting melodies reminiscent of White’s past” (USA Today), out March 4th. The premiere is the latest in a wave of early press for White and Old Postcard. No Depression says, “if Lucinda ever fronted Fleetwood Mac, this might be the outcome,” and CMT Edge says of the song “Big Blue Sun,” “White fills out her lonely imagery with chilly harmonies and a weaving, staggering guitar melody.”

White, who “trades on elevated melodic sensibilities and intensely contemplative lyrics” (The Tennessean), takes a long look at home, history and family on Old Postcard. There’s a toughness and grit to the record, not just in some of the louder guitars or the world-weariness of lyrics, but also in the way the East Nashville-based singer and songwriter finds hope despite life’s travails and shortcomings. And throughout Old Postcard, the songs fully display White’s ear for truly memorable melodies and hooks.
