Tune In Tonight: Cory Henry Sits In With The Roots On The Tonight Show

July 25, 2016 - Tune in to The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon tonight to see “young and playfully funkified virtuoso” (Village Voice) Cory Henry sit-in with the Roots.

A two-time GRAMMY-winner with Snarky Puppy, Cory's latest album The Revival, out now, has received a growing groundswell of critical praise. NPR All Things Considered says Cory’s “musical charisma is a match for a nearly 400 pound organ," and the Boston Globe says “if anyone’s going to preach the gospel of the Hammond organ, it should be Cory Henry.”

While The Revival was Cory’s tribute to his first love, the Hammond B-3 organ (which he has been playing since he was two-years-old), his new album with the Funk Apostles, due in early 2017, will feature a full band sound – forged by nearly 100 shows over the last year. It is a synthesis of Cory’s many influences – Michael Jackson, Marvin Gaye, Prince, Herbie Hancock, Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Wonder, James Brown. On it, Cory brings a classic sound into the here and now. As Cory says, “my way, my take.”
