“Stylistically Varied, Intricately Detailed, Slyly Coherent” (NY Times), Céu’s Tropix Wins Raves

April 11, 2016 - Céu’s bold, seductive new album Tropix, out now on Six Degrees Records, is winning raves from critics rising up the radio charts. Tropix, which hit #1 on the iTunes World chart, is #2 on the CMJ New World chart and was the FMQB Triple A Public Breakout last week.

Céu is in the midst of a 26-date world tour in support of the release, with the North American leg kicking off June 17th in San Francisco, CA. With the help of producers Herve Salters, the French electronics whiz who records under the name General Elektriks, and Pupillo, drummer for the legendary Brazilian band Naçao Zumbi and one of the most in demand producers in Brazil today, Céu let the beats guide her to some of the most adventurous and pop friendly songs she has written to date.

Watch the “mesmerizing” (Billboard) video for first single “Perfume Do Invisível” here.

Here’s what we’ve been hearing:

“Stylistically varied, intricately detailed, slyly coherent.”

-New York Times

“Céu let the beats be her guide while paving a bold new seductive sound for her new album.”

“Laidback electro bossa from a modern Astrud Gilberto.”

-Guardian UK

"It is the most artfully rendered and sophisticated recording in her catalog, the work of a mature artist in full command of a sonic language. It's also a hell of a lot of fun to listen and dance to."
