March 21, 2016 – Céu will embark on a 26-date world tour in support of her new album Tropix, out March 25 on Six Degrees Records, with the North American leg kicking off June 17th in San Francisco, CA. With the help of producers Herve Salters, the French electronics whiz who records under the name General Elektriks, and Pupillo, drummer for the legendary Brazilian band Naçao Zumbi and one of the most in demand producers in Brazil today, Céu let the beats guide her to a bold, seductive new sound on Tropix.

“I am going back to the beats.” That was international star and GRAMMY/Latin GRAMMY nominee Céu’s edict when she went into the studio to create her fourth album Tropix. Electronic beats and live drums mix with hazy sonic textures to create the backbone for the deeply melodic tracks – at once some of the most adventurous and pop friendly songs Céu has written to date.

“Working with Salters and Pupillo was a dream come true,” says Céu. They were able to translate her vision into reality with Tropix, which she says is a combination of ‘tropical’ and ‘pixel.’ “Somehow the pixel became a inspiration,” Céu says. “A pixel is a small part of a big thing—defragmentation as a concept. That’s also why the album has a lot of arpeggiator keyboard, to capture that sound.”
