David Crosby Announces Spring 2019 Tour With Sky Trails Band

Crosby Will Perform Songs From His “Most Stylistically Diverse And Sonically Lush Solo Album” (Spin) Sky Trails, As Well As Songs From Throughout His Legendary Career

February 20, 2019 – At 77, David Crosby has experienced a late career resurgence unlike almost any other in the history of rock & roll. He’s released four critically acclaimed solo albums in five years, and this spring he will take his Sky Trails band on the road for a 23-date U.S. tour. Crosby and his ace Sky Trails band - his son (and Sky Trails producer) James Raymond on keys, Mai Leisz on bass, Steve DiStanislao on drums, Jeff Pevar on guitar and Michelle Willis on keys and vocals – will kick off the tour May 10 in Minneapolis, MN. They will perform songs from Crosby’s 2017 album Sky Trails, which the Associated Press called "an excellent batch of tunes to continue appreciating and enjoying his talents," as well as songs from throughout his legendary career.

Last year, Crosby released his latest solo album Here If You Listen with his Lighthouse band – Becca Stevens, Michelle Willis and Snarky Puppy’s Michael League – and the album was met with a wide swath of critical praise. NPR Music says "Crosby is contemplating death, he's contemplating his life, his career, but to me it's the sound that's so captivating here. And the freshness of the combination of these voices," while Aquarium Drunkard says “nearly five-and-a-half decades into his career, David Crosby might finally be hitting fourth gear.”

A documentary on Crosby’s remarkable life, David Crosby: Remember My Name, debuted at Sundance last month, and was picked up by Sony Classics after rave reviews. Variety calls it “moving and elegiac,” and the Hollywood Reporter says it’s “a touching, nostalgia-infused portrait that’s imbued with affection for its horny, ornery but consistently charismatic subject. And yet, remarkably, it never comes across as fawning or hagiographic.” Directed by AJ Eaton and produced by Cameron Crowe, the official release date for the film is still tbd.
