David Crosby Adds More Dates To 2019 Tour With Sky Trails Band

May 14, 2019 – At 77, David Crosby has experienced a late career resurgence unlike almost any other in the history of rock & roll. He’s released four critically acclaimed solo albums in five years, and today he is adding additional dates to the 2019 tour with his Sky Trails band. Crosby and his ace Sky Trails band - his son (and Sky Trails producer) James Raymond on keys, Mai Leisz on bass, Steve DiStanislao on drums, Jeff Pevar on guitar and Michelle Willis on keys and vocals – kicked off the current leg of the tour last week in Minneapolis, MN, and the new dates will take the band on the road through September. They will perform songs from Crosby’s 2017 album Sky Trails, which the Associated Press called "an excellent batch of tunes to continue appreciating and enjoying his talents," as well as songs from throughout his legendary career.

Crosby opened the initial run of the Sky Trails band tour last week at the Pantages Theatre in Minneapolis, MN. City Pages was there and says, “gray hair aside, Crosby actually appeared as ageless as ever at the Pantages, and his voice carried the tunes like it was 1974. The vitality and defiance still present in the show’s final two numbers, CSNY’s ‘Almost Cut My Hair’ and ‘Ohio,’ suggested that, as Crosby heads into his seventh decade of rocking, he’s far from finished.”

Last year, Crosby released his latest solo album Here If You Listen with his Lighthouse band – Becca Stevens, Michelle Willis and Snarky Puppy’s Michael League – and the album was met with a wide swath of critical praise. NPR Music says "Crosby is contemplating death, he's contemplating his life, his career, but to me it's the sound that's so captivating here. And the freshness of the combination of these voices," while Aquarium Drunkard says “nearly five-and-a-half decades into his career, David Crosby might finally be hitting fourth gear.”

A documentary on Crosby’s remarkable life, David Crosby: Remember My Name, debuted at Sundance earlier this year, and was picked up by Sony Classics after rave reviews. It will premiere July 16th in New York City and July 19th in Los Angeles. Directed by AJ Eaton and produced by Cameron Crowe, Variety calls it “moving and elegiac,” and the Hollywood Reporter says it’s “a touching, nostalgia-infused portrait that’s imbued with affection for its horny, ornery but consistently charismatic subject. And yet, remarkably, it never comes across as fawning or hagiographic.”
