David Crosby Performing First Single From New Album Sky Trails May 17th On The Tonight Show
“She’s Got To Be Somewhere” Will Be Released Digitally May 19th, Sky Trails Coming This Fall
May 15, 2017 – Two-time Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee David Crosby will perform “She’s Got To Be Somewhere,” the first single from his new album Sky Trails, on the Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Wednesday, May 17th. The single will be available at digital retailers and streaming services on Friday, May 19th, and Sky Trails will be released in the fall via BMG.
Sky Trails is a full band affair produced by his son James Raymond, and is another volley in the 75-year-old’s incredible late period resurgence. The album, his third solo album in four years, will be released only one year after Crosby’s critically acclaimed album Lighthouse, which Rolling Stone says is his "finest solo album since his melancholy 1971 masterpiece If I Could Only Remember My Name.”
In an interview from last year, Stereogum reminded readers “David Crosby is a legend, but you already knew that. Between the Byrds and Crosby, Stills, & Nash (& sometimes Young), he’s been in some of the most foundational classic rock groups out there. These are the kinds of bands where entire genres and sounds owe a debt to the specifics of their work, from the jangling guitar of the Byrds birthing whole swathes of indie-rock to the layered folk-rock harmonies of CSN defining a time and yielding a host of imitators.”
Crosby has collaborated with dozens of artists, including Joni Mitchell, James Taylor, Pink Floyd’s David Gilmour, Phil Collins, Elton John and Carole King. The folk rock pioneer, who was inducted into the prestigious Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2009, has also served as our social conscience, not only eloquently writing about societal issues on such songs as “Almost Cut My Hair” and “Wooden Ships,” but continuously donating concert proceeds to likeminded causes.
Crosby is currently out on the road on 25-date coast-to-coast full band U.S. Spring tour, joined by James Raymond on keys, Mai Agan on bass, Steve DiStanislao on drums, Jeff Pevar on guitar and Michelle Willis on keys and vocals. David and the band are performing music from Sky Trails, alongside some of his best loved songs and greatest hits.
