Jaime Wyatt Caps Breakout Year With Rolling Stone Premiere Of Video For Prison Love Song “Wasco”, Wheeler Walker Jr Dates

Touring With Shooter Jennings In January Ahead Of Outlaw Country Cruise, AmericanaFest UK And European Tour

December 1, 2017 - Jaime Wyatt has been one of 2017’s most unexpected country breakouts, with Rolling Stone CountryNoiseyL.A. TimesBillboardPasteL.A. WeeklySaving Country MusicAssociated PressNPR World Café, Entertainment Weekly and many others doling out praise for her new album Felony Blues. Today, Rolling Stone Country premieres the video for album standout “Wasco.”

"Wasco" details the love affair Wyatt's cellmate in L.A. county jail had with an inmate at Wasco State Prison near Bakersfield. They had never met, but they planned their wedding (once both of them were out of jail) via letters sent between the two correctional facilities. The video (and the swaggering song) give off the same rebellious vibe that fueled two incarcerated love birds to plan for their future even while behind bars.

Wyatt closes out 2017 opening a run of dates with Wheeler Walker Jr., and will hit the ground running in 2018. She’ll open a string of dates for Shooter Jennings before heading out on the Outlaw Country Cruise with Blackberry Smoke, The Mavericks, Jennings, Lucinda Williams, Steve Earle and more. She’ll then head to the AmericanaFest UK to kick off a European tour.

Wyatt got a record deal at the age of 17, but after a second deal went down the tubes, she developed a drug problem. She got busted for robbing her drug dealer and took a plea deal for 8 months in jail, a felony strike, 6 months of treatment and 3 years felony probation. Jaime's emerged with a largely autobiographical collection of convict love stories, prison songs, and honky-tonk laments (and a gorgeous cover of Merle Haggard's "Misery And Gin").

Here’s what we’ve been hearing about Jaime and Felony Blues:

“Jaime Wyatt’s life story is about as country as it gets."

"For fans of: Margo Price, Elizabeth Cook, outlaw country artists who have actually served time."

-Rolling Stone Country, January 2017 "10 New Country Artists You Need To Know"

“Breaking Big in Country”

-Entertainment Weekly

“Fueled by electric twang-rock that hints at a countrified Tom Petty and a hardened Lucinda Williams. That is, if either had spent time in prison as Wyatt has.”

-The Los Angeles Times

“[Felony Blues has] all the right country touches: trebly lead guitar licks and lonesome pedal steel over vintage-style C&W beats and Wyatt’s spellbinding voice, a rough-edged and emotionally expressive vehicle built for heartache.”

-Paste Magazine, “Best of What’s Next” feature

“2017 is still young, but the effort expended by Jaime Wyatt on Felony Blues is impressive enough to be considered the best in the country realm so far.”

-Saving Country Music, Two Guns Up album review

"As authentic as anything you'll find in modern country.”

-Associated Press

"Bonnie Raitt with a backstory closer to Boosie"

-L.A. Weekly

“Listen to the music of Jaime Wyatt and you'll hear a lot of things. There’s the twang of Buck Owens, mixed with the freewheeling sounds of The Byrds or Rick Nelson’s later Decca recordings. Sprinkle in a dash of the eternal cool factor of Linda Ronstadt, and you’re very close to the unique musical stylings of Felony Blues, her upcoming album."

"An impressive new talent."

-American Songwriter

“Wyatt’s album showcases a new tour de force in female country music.”

-No Depression
