“Captivating” (Village Voice) Julie Feeney Brings New Album Clocks To Joe’s Pub June 12th
May 9, 2013 – Julie Feeney’s “flamboyant theatricality” (New York Times) will be on full display at Joe’s Pub June 12th, during the album release show celebrating the US release of her new album Clocks (out June 18th on mittens). Winner of the “Irish Times Album of the Year” as voted by readers, nominated for the Choice Music Prize-Irish Album of the Year, (a prize previously won by Feeney for her debut album) and a #1 on the Irish Album charts, Clocks finds Feeney perfecting her innovative, avant-garde approach to music, weaving together songs that deftly mix classical, pop and theatrical works.
Feeney is a fearless, uninhibited live performer. She is unafraid to wade into the crowd and whisper in their ears to add to a songs impact, or to bare her striking vocals with minimal instrumentation surrounding her. A full string ensemble, guitar, mandolin, trumpets, bass, keys and back-up singers will accompany Feeney at the Joe’s Pub show.

WHO: Julie Feeney
WHEN: Wednesday, June 12th at 7:30pm
WHERE: Joe’s Pub, 425 Lafayette St, New York, NY
Written, composed, arranged, conducted and orchestrated by the “brainy, adventurous” (NY Times) Feeney, Clocks is the result of countless hours researching her family history in Galway (her family is at least 6 generations Galwegian), and she uses the history of her family to provide deeper meaning to her beautiful, fanciful songs. “With this album, I am merely channeling, echoing and reiterating the feelings of the generations that came before me,” says Feeney. “The spirit and motivations in the songs are those of my forefathers. Our lives are completely different but the emotions are exactly the same.”
