“Effortlessly Cool” (GQ) Matrimony Kick Off 2nd Leg Of Spring Tour Tonight As Accolades Continue

May 30, 2014 - After a successful first leg, Matrimony will kick off the second leg of their Spring tour in support of Columbia Records debut Montibello Memories with a hometown show tonight in Charlotte at the Neighborhood Theatre.  After they wrap the June dates, the band will head to Louisville, KY for the Forecastle Festival, joining a line-up that also includes Outkast, Jack White, Beck, Spoon, The Replacements and many more.  With August shows already being confirmed and more dates in the works, the band will spend most of 2014 on the road, bringing their “rumbling, finely honed sound” (Billboard) across the U.S.

Praise continues to roll in for the band and Montibello Memories, here’s what we’ve been hearing:

“A collection of lush, melodic pop and rootsy folk.”

-Rolling Stone

“Effortlessly cool…. The band’s pop-folksy melodies make for a perfect leave-on-all-day soundtrack.”

“’See the Light,’ [is] a stirring, soulful number built around banjo, piano and percussion, with rapturous harmony vocals on the chorus.”

-Wall Street Journal

“4-stars….no matter how you want to classify them, there’s no denying that this family band is already a force.”

-American Songwriter

“Rumbling, finely honed sound.”

The Charlotte, N.C. band displays an intuition between members that other acts could only dream of.”
