Australian star Mia Dyson is preparing to release her new Right There EP on February 12, 2016, and PopMatters has premiered the first single “Tearing Up The Lawn.” A rollicking, rocking ode to misspent youth, the song feels like it's always teetering on the edge of going off the rails before exploding into each new chorus. PopMatters says it “brilliantly captures teen restlessness.”
Mia, who currently resides in Los Angeles, is a bona fide star in her native Australia. Four ARIA nominations (Australia’s equivalent of a GRAMMY). Voted one of the top 25 guitarists in Australia. 4-star album reviews in Australian Rolling Stone.
The Right There EP was recorded in East Nashville with Joe Pisapia (kd lang, Ben Folds Five, Guster) at his Middletree Studios. This is the first time Dyson has co-written with her husband, the poet Karl Linder, and the results are some of her most impassioned songs to date.
Multi-platinum superstar P!nk discovered Mia at a show in California earlier this year and became an instant fan, tweeting that Dyson was “blowing my mind apart.” Mia just wrapped up a tour in her native Australia with the Waifs, with plans for U.S. shows in early 2016.
