August 1, 2019 – After releasing her genre-bending solo debut Phase - produced by The Black Keys’ Patrick Carney – earlier this year, Jessy Wilson is preparing for a jam packed second half of 2019 with a long run of touring as an opener for Gary Clark Jr., Ben Harper/Trombone Shorty and The Black Keys/Modest Mouse. The Nashville-based Wilson will begin her run with Clark Jr. this Sunday, then spend the second half of August on the road with Harper and Trombone Shorty (including two NYC shows). In October, she will head out on the third leg of The Black Keys’ arena tour, wrapping up with a show at Barclays Center in her hometown of Brooklyn, NY.

In addition to her own album, Wilson appears prominently on one of 2019’s most acclaimed and successful albums, Tyler, the Creator’s #1 album IGOR. Tyler discovered Wilson through her earlier work with John Legend, specifically on the songs “Maxine” and “Maxine’s Interlude” from Legend’s Once Again album. Tyler tracked down Wilson via a DM to her Instagram, and two weeks later she was on a flight from Nashville to L.A. to record for the album. The collaboration proved so fruitful that Wilson ended up singing on half of IGOR.

808s, fuzzy guitars, catchy hooks, thumping drums and Wilson’s powerhouse vocals all contribute to create the unique musical alchemy found on Phase. Recorded at Audio Eagle Studios in Nashville, TN, Wilson co-wrote all 11 of the albums songs with Carney, who also played drums on the album.
