Praise continues to roll in for River Whyless and We All The Light, here’s what folks are saying:
“River Whyless finds uncommon balance on We All The Light, combining exceptional songwriting talent and unexpected sounds for something truly singular.”
"Create a distinctive vibe that will ring familiar bells without sounding quite like any of them."
"There’s an element of magic to the songs on We All the Light that elevate them from just another folk pop album to a much richer work, packed with intricacies that keep you on your toes as you listen."
“The group's razor-honed songwriting and thoughtful vocal harmonies steal the spotlight, but equally impressive is the nuanced musical arsenal they deploy…the band's new record ‘We All the Light’ is a triumph of emotional connection and musical alchemy.”
- WNYC Soundcheck
"Witnessing River Whyless take the stage at The Orange Peel last weekend was no joke. That particular group of musicians — who so deserve every measure of success that they’ve achieved — arrived at their landmark moment with a kind of starstruck awe. But they also played it like bosses, like four artists who’ve honed their sound, grown together as a group and know how to make a spotlit instant into a propulsive, transformative, unforgettable experience."
-Mountain Xpress (Asheville, NC)
“This buzzing Asheville four-piece takes the tones and arrangements of Appalachian music and incorporates them into expansive songs dressed up in pop and rock.”
