November 4, 2016 - River Whyless will wrap up a tremendous 2016 with a string of shows opening for Sara Watkins. The rising Asheville, NC band released their latest album We All The Light (Roll Call Records) earlier this year to critical praise and success at both Triple A and Americana radio. The band just wrapped the second leg of a tour in support of Blind Pilot, and earlier this year made their Newport Folk Festival debut. The band will keep the momentum going into 2017, with a slot at SXSW and a new tour in the works.

We All The Light lead single “All Day All Night” has received adds at over 45 Triple A/Non-Comm stations to date, and the album has been in the top 40 on the Americana radio charts for eight consecutive weeks. New single “Falling Son” is beginning to get play on Triple A/Non-Comm with early support from KUTX (Austin), WNRN (Charlottesville), Open Air (Denver), WFPK (Louisville), WNCW (Asheville), OPB (Portland, OR), KDHX (St. Louis) and WDVX (Knoxville).

The band have won support from NPR Music, the New York Times, the Associated Press, NPR All Things Considered, WNYC Soundcheck, NPR World Café, No Depression, the Bluegrass Situation, WFUV and more.

What press are saying:

"Create a distinctive vibe that will ring familiar bells without sounding quite like any of them."

-Associated Press

“The group's razor-honed songwriting and thoughtful vocal harmonies steal the spotlight, but equally impressive is the nuanced musical arsenal they deploy…the band's new record ‘We All the Light’ is a triumph of emotional connection and musical alchemy.”
