Rose’s Pawn Shop Hitting Riot Fest Chicago And Harvest Music Festival, Listen To “What Were You Waiting For?” Here:

July 9, 2014 – Stampeding out of the speakers, Rose’s Pawn Shop’s “What Were You Waiting For?” premieres today at American Songwriter.  The song, which opens the band’s new album Gravity Well (out September 9th), has an instantly memorable chorus, rollicking banjo and an insistent backbeat.  The band will hit the road in support of Gravity Well, playing a handful of dates in July before a full tour kicks off with a slot at Riot Fest Chicago, where they’ll play alongside acts like The Cure, The National, The Flaming Lips and Weezer.  The tour currently wraps up at another festival, the Harvest Music Festival, where Rose’s Pawn Shop will join a line-up that includes Yonder Mountain String Band, Trampled By Turtles, The Jayhawks and Carolina Chocolate Drops.

With Gravity Well, Rose’s Pawn Shop prove that first and foremost they craft great songs, and bolster them with exceptional instrumental chops and a live show that is already blowing minds.  The band spent two-and-a-half weeks of pre-production work with producer Ted Hutt (Gaslight Anthem, Old Crow Medicine Show, Dropkick Murphys) before heading into Kingsize Soundlabs in L.A. for another two weeks to record Gravity Well.  This gave them time to focus and refine their sound.  The band put faith in Hutt to help them get the sonic elements in place in order to create the cohesive sound of the album.  They worked hard to make sure the album made sense as a whole, leaving many songs off the record that didn’t serve the overall sound of Gravity Well.
