Martin Performing Special Holiday Show With Edmonson At Joe’s Pub In NYC on December 18th

December 2, 2014 – Walter Martin of the Walkmen - who released his solo debut We’re All Young Together earlier this year to raves from the NY Times, NPR, NY Mag Vulture, USA Today and more – today releases a charming new holiday song, “I Walk So Slow (Under The Mistletoe)” featuring Kat Edmonson via Spin. The song has a romantic yet playful feel to it, sounding new and comfortably lived in all at once. Artist Juan Miguel Marin created the accompanying video hand crafting all the objects featured and using stop motion to create the movement.

“I love holiday music and I tried to pump up all of its wonderful clichés: dreamy romance, choral singing, sleigh bells…etc,” says Martin. “I want people to feel like they're sitting on a gumdrop sofa inside a gingerbread house while it's raining candy canes and eggnog.”

Martin will perform a special holiday show to celebrate the release of the new song, accompanied by Edmonson. They’ll perform “I Walk So Slow (Under The Mistletoe),” We’re All Young Together tracks and other special surprises. More info on the show can be found here.

This has been a banner year for Martin, who embarked on a solo career with the release of We’re All Young Together, which received high praise from a wide range of press outlets. Here’s what we’ve heard:
